Cambridge Archives

The University of Cambridge has digitized 4,000 pages of handwritten (and non-handwritten) notes by Isaac Newton and made them available online. The collection includes notes from his major work Philosophiæ naturalis principia mathematica from 1687, which describes the fundamental principles of kinematics and gravity. It also includes some later documents by Newton, such as a notebook inherited from his stepfather, known as the Waste Book, which contains parts of his work on calculus. Additionally, two notebooks from his college days and notes on hydrostatics, optics, sound, and heat are also available.
